* The church is distinguished because its a spiritual nation from the physical nations of Jews and Gentiles
* Spiritually there is no Jews and Gentiles, we are all a christian church
* If a Jew gets saved today, they are not considered a Jew nationality in God's eyes, they are considered as the church of God
* The christian church replaces the Jews temporarily but God is going to restore the Jews again
* Once the tribulation occurs, the Jews are going to be the focus now
* The church will be raptured out before tribulation begins
* Because the christians are gone, the spiritual dealings are also gone
* Then the physical dealings can be operational again
* Thats why dispensationalism is important so that no contradictions is going on
* See the 1st focus group
* Its Israel and specific tribes are mentioned (See verses 5-8)
* Physical Israel is dealt with again
* See the 2nd focus group
* This is dealing with all nations, all other nations (non Jews)
* These are the Gentiles
* We know that the book of Revelation is about the tribulation end times
* Look at the focus group of people in that time, its only Jews and Gentiles
* Church is never mention at all in the entire tribulation period, different from the christian epistles
* If we are familiar with our covenants, God is going back to physical dealings again
* Revelation 6: the 1st seal is open up (the beginning of tribulation)
* Revelation 19: Jesus coming down to earth (the end of the tribulation)
* The christian church is gone before the tribulation, the spiritual dealings is not the primary focus at this time. Its physical dealings
* The church is raptured up to heaven so God can focus and operate primarily on physical dealings again
* When they ask this question, Jesus answered from verse 4 onwards all the way to chapter 25 verse 46
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
* The story is there are 10 virgins (5 wise and 5 foolish) and the all had oil in their lamps
* The wise retained the oil in their lamps but the foolish did not retain the oil in their lamps
* Many scholars teaches the oil represents the Holy Spirit (that is true, we will look at that)
* Since the oil is the Holy Spirit, notice these people lost the Holy Spirit
* So one can loose the Holy Spirit, thus one can loose one's salvation
* But if we are familiar with the covenant, we already know the answer
* This takes place in the tribulation. This is not for christians. This is during the tribulation end times
a. The Oil Anointing Is The Holy Spirit
* When Jesus was preaching on the book of isaiah, Jesus mentions that the anointing is connected to the Holy Spirit
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
* Because of physical dealings, keeping the Holy Spirit is dependent on physical living (works)
* This is no surprise to us if we are familiar with our covenants
* God is not focusing on spiritual dealings (faith alone without works)
* God is going back now towards physical dealing again (faith and works)
* These people are washing themselves in the blood of the lamb
* Its different from us christians
* They overcame by themselves
* They have to live well for good testimony
* They have to prioritize Jesus till death
* They are doing something on their own by the blood
* Not Jesus doing the active work for them
* Their complete salvation is depended on them to apply the blood themselves, not Christ
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
* Jesus did the washing for us
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
* "hast redeemed us to God by thy blood"
* Jesus doing the active work wherelse we are the passive
* because christians are not dependent on our physical works
* Notice the difference with those who came out of tribulation (Rev 7:14, Rev 12:11)
* They are the ones doing the active work
* A christian when he is saved by faith alone, Jesus Christ does the washing with His blood for us, Jesus does the active work for us
* The christians are not dependent on our physical works (we don't do the work at all, its all just by faith, nothing of us)
* If we are familiar with the Pauline epistles, everytime it talks about the blood of Jesus, we will notice that its Jesus Christ doing the active action while we are the passive receiver
* In the book of Revelation (tribulation time period) we can notice the switch
* The tribulation saints are the ones doing the active, they are doing the work themselves
4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, /u>Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
* This is a judgement of nations to see who is worthy to enter his kingdom on the earth (physical kingdom on earth)
* Their salvation is dependent upon how well they treat the brethren (works)
9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
* This is different from our christian gospel which is the death buriel and ressurection of Jesus Christ
* If the christian church is in the tribulation, it will conflict this gospel
* It makes sense that the church is already raptured out
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
* This gospel is the gospel that the children of Israel heard before
6 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:
7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.
8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.
9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.
10 But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.
11 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?
12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.
13 And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)
14 And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.
* The children of israel fell short of entering the promised land because they did not fear God and doubted his power
2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
4 In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.
6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.
8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
* The Jews need to have faith in God that he will protect them againts the gentiles nation
* The gospel of armed warfare is to have faith in the power of God fighting for their nation
* The Jews will be the enemy of all the world
* When all the world turns against all the Jews, their gospel is to have faith and fear God and that they cannot compromise and fear the other gentile nations but they should stand their ground when they battle againts them until their Messiah comes down to rescue them from all the other nations
* They are misapplyiing verses meant for the Jews in tribulation to the church age.
* We know the general epistles are dealing with Jewish people and it should be no surprise to us that a lot of physical dealings will be involved concerning their salvation and connected to Jews
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
a. This Applies To Jews Not Christians
* 12 tribes Israel = Jews
* Last days = tribulation time period
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
a. This Applies To Jews Not Christians
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
* In the tribulation its faith and works for salvation and one can loose their salvation because its God's physical dealings again and the Jews are restored
* When we hear a Jew, a red light should come up in our mind and be aware that physical dealings would be involved that includes salvation, baptism, or law of Moses etc
* Thats why it makes sense works are involved: a person has to do physical works like resist the mark of the beast in his physical body
* How to argue one is saved by faith alone in the tribulation when one cannot buy or sell and be starved to death, become poor and get persecuted
* Thats a lot of work involved
* If we are very honest, those are really hard works
