THE MYSTERY OF GODLINESS
(Mysteries Of The Bible)
SECTION 1: INTRODUCTION

1. Paul Says, There Are Mysteries Of God In The Scriptures And It Is The Duty Of Every Christian Espescially Ministers And Teachers And Preachers Of God’s Word To Be Stewards Of These Mysteries
1 Corinthians 4:1-2 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Note:
* its our duty to care for these mysteries that are found in the bible. We are called to be faithful. That means we as the stewards of the mysteries of God should faithfully preach and teach these to other people.
* the reason for preaching these is because these mysteries form the very foundation of the christian faith and sound doctrine.
* if christians can be rooted in these doctrines that are found in the scriptures in the form of mysteries, then there is very little chance for christians to go astray from sound doctrine.
* why is it that there is so much liberalism and apostasy among christians? Its because christians have not been taught the very fundamental doctrines of the scriptures.
* A mystery in the bible is a doctrine that can be believed but cannot be fully explained. So we are going to try to make a feeble atempt to try to expalain and understand these great mysteries
* God has given us the whole council of God in the scriptures. When we compare scripture with scripture, other portion of the scriptures can throw enough light on these mysteries for us to be able to understand them at least to the extend that it can make us strong in our faith in the scriptures and in the Lord Jesus Christ

2. Paul Says God Revealed To Him Some Mysteries And He Went To Tell It To The Other Apostles
Ephesians 3:1-5 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
* God revealed these mysteries unto the apostle Paul and in these verses we read that Paul went to reveal it to the other apostles

3. Paul Tells Us That We Are To Have Fellowship In These Mysteries Which Have Been Hidden From The Beginning Of The World, Jesus Christ Is The Creator
Ephesians 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
* Noticed the verse: "who created all things by Jesus Christ:"
* Jesus is God. He was the one who created everything

False Teaching From New Bible Versions
* KJV says “who created all things by Jesus Christ:
* New bible versions removed the word “by Jesus Christ

a. New Bible Versions Attacks The Deity Of Christ: They Take Out The Word “By Jesus Christ”
[ESV] Ephesians 3:9 and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in[a] God, who created all things,
[NIV] Ephesians 3:9 and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.
[NLT] Ephesians 3:9 I was chosen to explain to everyone[a] this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had kept secret from the beginning.
[RSV] Ephesians 3:9 and to make all men see what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in[a] God who created all things;
* New bible versions take out the word "by Jesus Christ" and so they attack the deity of Christ
* The KJV bible tells us that Jesus is the creator. So Jesus is God, the creator
* In the begining God created... that was Jesus speaking before Jesus came to the earth in a bodily form, He was alive and well in heaven

SECTION 2: MYSTERY OF GODLINESS: MYSTERY OF THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST

* God revelaed this mystery to Paul

1. Mystery Of Godliness: God Was Manifest In The Flesh
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
* Noticed "God was manifest in the flesh": Who is that? God, Jesus Christ
* This tells us the mystery of godliness. God was manifest in the flesh.
* This is about the mystery of the incarnation of Christ
* Incarnation comes from latin word meaning in the flesh. So God was manifest in the flesh accroding to the KJV

False Teaching From New Bible Versions
* KJV says “God” was manifest in the flesh
* New bible versions removed the word “God” and replaced it with “He”

a. New Bible Versions Attacks The Deity Of Christ Again: They Take Out The Word "God" And Replace It With The Word "He"
[ESV] 1 Timothy 3:16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He[a] was manifested in the flesh, vindicated[b] by the Spirit,[c] seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.
[NIV] 1 Timothy 3:16 Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit,[a] was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.
[RSV] 1 Timothy 3:16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of our religion: He[a] was manifested in the flesh, vindicated[b] in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.
* Who is “He”? There is no word to which the word “He” can be related to even if we look at the context verses before and after it.
* Why would they change the word "God" to "He"?
* That shows that somebody who hates the deity of Christ is trying to change the word of God
* So, who was manisfest in the flesh? If we have the new version of the bible, we don't know. Some guy we don't know... it was a "he". But if we have the KJV Bible, we know exactly who was manisfest in the flesh. It was Jesus Christ and who is Jesus Christ? He is God
* Thank God for the KJV Bible. New versions continuously attacks the deity of Jesus Christ

SECTION 3: MYSTERY OF THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST IS ABOUT THE DEITY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

1. When Paul Says God Was Manifest In The Flesh, He Implies 2 Things
a. The Divinity Of Christ
b. The Virgin Birth Of Christ

2. Paul Says People Who Don’t Believe Will Laugh At Us For Preaching Things About God. This Is The Foolishness Of God When We Preach Such Kind Of Mystery
1 Corinthians 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
* The man who preaches it and the message will look like foolishness to those who don’t believe

3. Bible Cautions Us Agains Philosophers And Vain Deceit: These People Looks At The Message Of God Which We Preach As Foolishness
1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

A. THE DIVINITY OF CHRIST

* This has been a subject that has been attacked by unbelievers firstly but also attacked by believers espescially by all the modern bible versions
* We take the modern bible versions and compare all the verses that talk about the deity of Christ againts the KJV bible and we will see the every single time the KJV upholds this great doctrine of the deity of Christ and almost every single time these modern versions attacks the deity of Christ and make people to doubt the divinity of Christ that God was manisfest in the flesh.

1. When Paul Says God Was Manifiest, He Is Implying That Jesus Christ Is God. He Is Deity. He Is Divinity
* That is why Paul says that the blood of Lord Jesus Christ is the blood of God but many people say this is bad translation in the KJV bible

a. Importance Of Jesus's Blood: Jesus Died On The Cross And He Shed His Blood For Our Sins
(i) John The Baptist Said: Behold The Lamb Of God, Which Taketh Away The Sin Of The World

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

(ii) Information About Blood Of A Child And A Mother During Pregnancy
* Some say that when a woman is pregnant and in her belly she has the seed of a child. They say that the child begins to produce his/her own blood. And during the pregnancy, never does the child's blood mix with the blood of the mother.
* Why is that important? The life of the flesh is in the blood and we are all sinners and because of that, we have sinful tainted blood.
* If the blood of Jesus mixed with the blood of His mother, then Jesus would have been a sinner with a sinful nature with a sinful blood like our's.
* So, His blood must have never mixed with the blood of His mother. So, when Jesus Christ died and shed His blood, He shed whose blood?

(iii) This Verse Tells Us Whose Blood Was Shed. The Antecedent To The Word “Blood” Is The Word “God”: God Purchased Us With His Own Blood
Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
* God purchased us with His own blood.
* Jesus Christ died on the cross to shed His blood to purchase His church
* This verse just showed us its God's blood.
* The bible tells us that Jesus Christ is none other than God manifest in the flesh

Jehovah Witness Argument:
* This denomination claims themselves as Christians but they don’t believe Jesus is God
* They claim that Jesus is not God. He is just a lesser god.
* In John 1:18, they changed the bible and attack the deity of Christ and made Jesus a little god (lower case "g') rather than God with a capital "G"

Muslim Argument:
* They will say that Jesus never mentioned He is God. Where in the bible does it say that?

2. God Tells Us He Is Not A Small "god"
Hosea 13:4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
* thou shalt know no "god" but me => small caps = "lesser god"

3. Jesus Is Called The Lord So Many Times In The New Testament. He Is The Same Lord In The Old Testament
* Jesus is called Lord, Jehovah God is called Lord.

a. Jehovah God Said He Is Lord, He Is The Saviour
Isaiah 43:10-11 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

b. Jehovah God Said There Is Only One God And He Is Called The Redeemer
Isaiah 44:22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
Isaiah 44:8 ... Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

c. Jesus Redeemed Us Through His Blood
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; * So, we have redemption through the shed blood of Jesus which the bible calls God's blood. Then that means Jesus is the redeemer. Yet, in the old testament it says that the Lord Is the redeemer and He is the only God. So, what does it mean that Jesus is? Jesus is the Lord, He is The Saviour, He is God
* So, obviously its the same God of the old testament and the new testament and that God is Jesus Christ

4. Thomas Called Jesus God: My Lord And My God
John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
* we have to be careful on denominations that claim that Jesus is not God. That's of the Satan. He likes to deceive people and he hates that Jesus Christ is God

5. Jesus Is The True God
1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
* Jesus Christ is God

6. Jesus Himself Make This Claim That He Is None Other Than God: Jesus Said He That Has Seen Me Has Seen The Father (That Means He And The Father Are The Same)
John 14:8-9 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

7. Jesus Said God Approved Of Him. If God Did Not Approve Of Him, He Would Never Be Able To Perform These Miracles: The Father Himself Borne Witness Of Me
John 5:37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
* The miracles of Jesus are powerful miracles not some street magic
* Jesus healed, brought back the dead

8. Paul Says If Jesus Is Not God, He Would Have Never Come Back To Life: Ressurection From The Dead
Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

9. Before Jesus Died, He Said It Was He Himself Who Chose To Lay It Down And He Has The Power To Take It Again
John 10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

10. Paul Says Jesus In The Form Of God Is Equal With God
Philippians 2:6 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

B. VIRGIN BIRTH OF CHRIST

* God chose to become a man through a virgin birth
* God cannot chose to come a man through a natural relationship of a man and a woman because then, He would have inherited the sinful nature of mankind.

1. It All Began Here, This Verse Is Talking About The Virgin Birth Of Jesus: Seed Of A Woman, A Promised Seed That Will Bruise The Serpant’s Head
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
* a woman does not have a seed. Its a man who have a seed.

2. Prophecy Of God Manifest In The Flesh Was Foretold Long Ago (God’s Virgin Birth): Behold, A Virgin Shall Conceive And Bear A Son And Shall Call His Name Immanuel
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
* This was written about 700 years before Jesus Christ was born and this prophecy was given by God
* We will see what Immanuel means and it has to do with God
* Its a propecy that Jesus would be born of a virgin (a woman who have never known a man, a woman who have never had sexual relations with a man)
* What is that? That is a miracle for a woman to not get pregnant without ever knowing a man

False Teaching From New Bible Versions
* KJV says Jesus is born by “a virgin”
* Modern bible versions changed it to “young woman” or “the virgin” (Jesus is born of a young woman?, Jesus is born of the virgin?)

a. New Bible Versions Attack The Deity Of Christ Again: They Changed The Word "A Virgin" To "Young Woman" or “The Virgin”
[RSV] Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, a young woman[a] shall conceive and bear[b] a son, and shall call his name Imman′u-el.[c]
[ESV] Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.[a]
[NIV] Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you[a] a sign: The virgin[b] will conceive and give birth to a son, and[c] will call him Immanuel.[d]
[NKJV] Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.[a]
[NLT] Isaiah 7:14 All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin[a] will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).
* New versions change the word of God again and it always seemed to happen pertaining to the deity of Christ. It almost sounds like a conspiracy that someone does not want us to know that Jesus Christ is God. Who could that be? Satan?
* It is so important to have the KJV Bible, otherwise we have a watered down version which constantly attacks the deity of Jesus Christ

3. Prophecy Fulfilled. God Manifest In The Flesh. The Virgin Birth Of Jesus Christ. Emmanuel Means God With Us. Jesus Is God.
Matthew 1:18-23 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
* The Holy Spirit put his seed into Mary and she, a virgin gave birth
* Emmanuel means God with us => Jesus is God.
* Its a miracle birth which we cannot explain

4. God Creates Man In 4 Different Ways
a. Man => Ground = Adam
b. Woman => Man = Eve
c. Man & Woman = Us Normal Human Beings
d. Woman Without A Man = God Manifest In The Flesh

5. Why Does God Need To Born Through Virgin Birth? So That God Could Become A Man And Still Be Without Sin
* every humankind that is born inherits the sinful nature ever since they are being conceived in the womb that’s why it is important that God is virgin birth

a. Jesus Is Sinless. He Does Not Have The Sin Nature In Him Nor Did He Commit Any Sin: Jesus Knew No Sin. God Made Himself To Be Sin For Us
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

b. Jesus Was Tempted In Every Point Like As We Are Yet Without Sin
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

c. Jesus Says Who Dares To Say I Have Sin?
John 8:46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

6. Why Is It So Important That He Should Be Without Sin? So That He May Die In The Place Of Man
* Only a sinless man can die in the place of a sinful man and pay the penalty of that sinful man

a. Jesus Is The Substitute For Every Man That Was Ever Born: He Taste Death For All Mankind
Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

b. Jesus Did Not Come In Nature Of Anglels But Of Man. He Came To Pay For The SIns Of All Mankind
Hebrews 2:14-18 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
