THE DOCTRINE OF THE BLOOD ATONEMENT
(The Gospel: Fundemantal Of Christian Faith)
1. It Is The Blood That Makes Atonement For The Soul, Life Of The Flesh In In The Blood
Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
2. Without Shedding Of Blood Is No Remission
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
3. What Is Atonement?
* Atonement is a shed blood. Atonement is through blood. Its a sacrifice. Usually in a form of an animal. Everytime in the bible when a person sin, God demands a blood sacrifice for their sins. Atonement is to cover or forgive men's sin. When someone has atonement, they get forgiveness, remission.
SECTION 2: IMPORTANCE OF BLOOD DURING THE OLD TESTAMENT
1. God Make Coats Of Skins And Clothed Adam & Eve
Genesis 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
* God sacrificed an animal as a substitute of their sins to cover their sins and clothed them.
2. Abel Offered Animal To God And God Respected His Offering, Cain Offered Fruit To God But God Did Not Respect His Offering
Genesis 4:3-5 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
3. Noah Build An Altar Unto God And Took Clean Animals And Offered Burnt Offerings On The Altar To God
Genesis 8:20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
4. Abraham Build Altar Unto God
Genesis 12:7-8 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD
5. Abraham Built An Altar To Sacrifice His Son Isaac To God
Genesis 22:9-10 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
6. Isaac Asked Abraham Where Is The Lamb For Offering? Abraham Said God Will Provide Himself A Lamb
Genesis 22:7-8 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
* Isaac was acustomed to sacrificing with his father and when they offered a blood atonement or sacrifice to God, it was a lamb.
7. When God Sees The Blood Applied, He Will Not Destroy: Moses And The Lord’s Passover. Lamb Sacrifice. Take Blood Of The Lamb To Strike On Two Side Post And Upper Door Post Of The House
Exodus 12:5-13 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD'S passover.
12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.
13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
SECTION 3: IN THE OLD TESTAMENT: 2 THINGS MUST TAKE PLACE TO GET FORGIVENESS OF SINS FROM GOD
1. 2 Things Must Take Place To Get Forgiveness Of Sins
PART 1: Blood Shed Sacrifice
PART 2: Priest To Offer That Blood To God (Make Atonement)
PART 1: BLOOD SHED SACRIFICE
1. The Sinner Is Required To Sacrifice An Innocent Animal By Killing & Slaying It Before God
Leviticus 4:1-7 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
3 If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering.
4 And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD; and shall lay his hand upon the bullock's head, and kill the bullock before the LORD.
PART 2: PRIEST TO OFFER THAT BLOOD TO GOD
1. The Priest Is Required To Offer & Apply That Blood Accordingly Inside The Tabernacle
Leviticus 4:5-7 And the priest that is anointed shall take of the bullock's blood, and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation:
6 And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the LORD, before the vail of the sanctuary.
7 And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the LORD, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation; and shall pour all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
2. This Is Where We Get The Word Atonement. That Blood Sacrifice Is For The Atonement Of Their Sin. Forgiveness Only Through Blood Atonement
Leviticus 4:26 And he shall burn all his fat upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall make an atonement for him as concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.
Note:
* The doctrine of blood atonement is through innocent animal blood sacrifices to God for their salvation . When this is done, then God will give them forgiveness. That's what appeases God's wrath. It is innocent blood being shed for the guilty
3. Priest’s Are Required For Making Atonement For The Sin Of The People To Get Forgiveness Of Sin. Forgiveness & Remission Had To Come Through The Blood Of Animal Sacrifice As A Sin Offering
Leviticus 4:31, 35 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour unto the LORD; and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him.
35 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: and the priest shall make an atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be forgiven him.
Numbers 15:28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.
Leviticus 5:6 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin.
SECTION 4: IN THE NEW TESTAMENT: 2 THINGS THAT TOOK PLACE FOR JESUS TO GET REDEMPTION OF SINS FOR US
1. 2 Things Took Place For Jesus To Get Redemption Of Sins For Us
PART 1: Blood Shed Sacrifice (The Lamb Of God To Take Away The Sins Of The World)
PART 2: High Priest To Offer That Blood To God
PART 1: BLOOD SHED SACRIFICE (THE LAMB OF GOD TO TAKE AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD)
1. Jesus Came To Be The Sacrificial Lamb To Take Away The Sins Of The World
John 1:29, 36 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
Note:
* Innocent animals was what was sacrificed in the Old Testament
* Jesus Christ is the innocent lamb of God who sacrificed Himself for us. He shed His blood for our sins.
* The Old Testament was given to point us to Christ. Jesus came to fulfill the law because the law is the schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.
* The old testament always points to Jesus and it shows that Jesus is the sacrifice. How was He the sacrifice?
2. Jesus Is Sinless. He Is Innocent Sacrificial Lamb Shedding His Blood For The Guilty
a. God The Father Made Jesus To Be Sin For Us, Jesus Is Sinless, God Takes His Sinlessness And Imputes That To Us
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
* Jesus Christ took the sin of the entire world upon Himself and died in our place for our sins so that we might have His Righteousness and receiving the atonement for the forgiveness of sins of our soul
b. Jesus Did No Sin, He Died For Our Sins So We Can Live Unto Righteousness
1 Peter 2:22-24 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
* Jesus became what the old testament animals were, the innocent dying for the guilty.
c. Christ Once Suffered For Sins, The Just For The Unjust To Bring Us To God By His Death
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
3. Jesus Shed Every Drop Of His Precious Blood On The Cross Of Calvary Until Water Gushed Out, Dying In Man's Place For Man's Sins
John 19:33-34 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
4. In The Old Testament: Blood Atonement By Innocent Animal Sacrifices Were Required For Forgiveness Of Sins
Hebrews 9:19-22 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
* God wants innocent animal blood to cover up their sins
a. However, Blood Of Innocent Animals Is Not Perfect And Powerful Enough To Take Away Sins
Hebrews 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
b. In The Old Testament, Priest Offers Ofentimes The Same Sacrifice Which Can Never Take Away Sins
Hebrews 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
c. God Says He Can Forgive Them But By No Means Clear Their Sins
Exodus 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
5. In The New Testament: Blood Of God (Jesus) Is Perfect And Powerful Enough To Wash Away All Sins
a. Jesus Shed Pure And Perfect Innocent Blood
1 Peter 1:19-20 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
b. Jesus Did One Sacrifice For Sins Forever
Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
c. Besides Getting Forgiveness Of Sins For Us, Jesus Blood Achieved A Higher Standard: Jesus By His Own Blood Obtained Eternal Redemption For Us
Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
PART 2: HIGH PRIEST TO OFFER THAT BLOOD TO GOD
1. Jesus Is Our High Priest, He Is Able To Make Atonement For Us
Hebrews 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
2. When Jesus Resurrected From The Dead, Jesus Told Mary Magdelene Don't Touch Him Because He Have Not Ascended To God The Father In Heaven
John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
3. Then Jesus Ascended To The Heaven To Offer His Blood To God In Heaven
Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
4. Because Jesus Is Our High Priest, He Is Able To Make Atonement For Us And Obtained Eternal Redemption For Us
Hebrews 9:11-12 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
5. This Is How We Know Jesus Did An Atonement For Us: The Blood Jesus Shed Is For The Atonement Of Our Sins
Romans 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
6. The Whole Universe Needs God's Blood
Hebrews 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
7. God's Blood Is Spread Throughout The Entire Universe
Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Note:
* Humans at any time or day can go wherever in the universe to plead for the blood of Jesus Christ because its available anywhere and everywhere
SECTION 5: SUPERIORITY OF JESUS AS OUR HIGH PRIEST AND HIS BLOOD: IN COMPARISON WITH NORMAL PRIEST AND ANIMAL BLOOD
PART 1: FROM HEBREWS 9:6-14, 22-28
1. Normal Priest: Had To Enter Man Made Tabernacle Every Year With Animal Blood Which Is Not Perfect Service
Hebrews 9:6-10 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
2. Jesus As Our High Priest: A Perfect Tabernacle Not Made With Hands. Jesus By With His Own Blood Obrtained Eternal Redemption For Us
Hebrews 9:11-12 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 >Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
3. If Blood Of Animals Which Are Unclean Can Sanctify And Purify, How Much More Shall The Blood Christ Do For Us?
Hebrews 9:13-14 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
4. Without Shedding Of Blood Is No Remission
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission
5. It Was Necessary That Pattern Of Things In Heaven Be Purified By These, But Heavenly Things Require Better Sacrifices
Hebrews 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
6. Christ Is Not Entered Into The Holy Place Made With Hands But Into Heaven Itself Appearing Into The Presence Of God For Us
Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
7. Christ Does Not Need To Do Yearly Animal Sacrifices As What The High Priest Does, He Did A It Once And For All By Sacrificing Himself
Hebrews 9:25-28 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
PART 2: FROM HEBREWS 10:10-12, 14, 19
1. We Are Sanctified Through The Offering Of The Body Of Jesus Body Once For All
Hebrew 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
2. Normal Priest Daily Ministering And Offering Oftentimes The Same Sacrifices Which Can Never Take Away Sins
Hebrew 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
3. Jesus’s Offered One Sacrifice For Sins Forever
Hebrew 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
4. By One Offering, Jesus Perfected It For Ever
Hebrew 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
5. We Can Now Enter Into The Holiest By The Blood Of Jesus
Hebrew 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
Summary Of Hebrews 9 & 10
* Jesus Christ died once for all sins.
* The blood of Jesus Christ is what its all about. That's what christianity is all about. Its all about that blood that He had to shed because it was the necessary sacrifice
* Old Testament sacrifices of animals all they did was only able to give them remission of sins (eg. Cancer being a remission - meaning it stopped growing for awhile but it is still there and it can come back)
* Old testament sacrifices took care of the past sins but what happens about those in the future? They will have to perform another sacrifice again and again
* Jesus Christ's sacrifice when He shed His blood was once for all (forever, for all sins, past, present and future)
* By Jesus's blood we receive Eternal Redemption
* Redemption means a purchase or buying back. When something is redeemed, its paid for
* In the Old Testament, those who died went to Abraham's Bosom which is in the heart of the earth and they can't even go to heaven.
* Only when Jesus shed His blood then only did they receive Redemption where they were then caught up with Jesus and went up into heaven.
* Now, when we die by trusting in the blood, our soul goes to heaven
SECTION 6: HOW THE TESTAMENTS STARTED??
1. New Testament: A Testament Is By The Death Of A Testator. The New Testament Started By Jesus’s Blood When Jesus Died For Us On The Cross
Hebrews 9:15-18 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
2. Old Testament: There Was Blood Shed To Start The Old Testament And That Was By Animal's Blood: That Started The Old Testament Law Which Is The Law Of Moses
Hebrews 9:19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
SECTION 7: THE GOSPEL FOR NEW TESTAMENT CHRISTIANS POINTS TO THE BLOOD ATONEMENT OF JESUS CHRIST
1. What Is The Gospel?: The Gospel Is About The Death, Buriel And Resurrection Of Christ (His Blood Atonement For Our Sins)
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
a. There Are 5 Points In The Gospel
(i) How Christ Died
(ii) For Our Sins
(iii) Was Buried
(iv) Rose Again
(v) According To The Scriptures
* The gospel is Jesus’s death, buriel and resurrection (Its about the blood atonement of Christ for our sins that saves us)
* The gospel is the pillar of the Christian faith and the way of salvation and eternal life.
* The gospel is WHAT JESUS CHRIST DID FOR HUMANKIND TO SOLVE THEIR SIN PROBLEM SO THAT THEY CAN HAVE ETERNAL LIFE TO BE WITH GOD IN HEAVEN
* The keyword is "HOW CHRIST DIED"
* Jesus died in a bloody manner on a bloody cross and He shed His blood so that His blood is able to wash away all our sins. He became the blood sacrifice for our sins
* Our gospel is all about "WHAT GOD DID FOR US"
* Our gospel is "THE DID GOSPEL"
* A person is only saved by BELIEVING in the finished work of Jesus Christ, when He shed His Precious Blood for our sins.
* The apostate gospel is "THE DO GOSPEL" : One needs to do something to get saved
* If we don't preach the blood, have we even preached the gospel?
* If we don’t hear the blood, have we even heard the gospel?
SECTION 8: SALVATION HAS TO DO WITH BLOOD ATONEMENT: SHEDDING OF BLOOD
1. To Be Saved, The Bible Teaches That Salvation Is By Faith Without Works
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
2. Faith In What? Faith In God’s Blood (Jesus’s Blood)
Romans 3:25-28 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
* Propitiation means the act of appeasing wrath
* Noticed the verse: “faith in his blood”: the object of faith is God’s blood (Jesus’ blood)
* Salvation is by faith in the blood atonement of Jesus Christ.
Note:
* The wrath of God abides on sinners, those who aren't saved
* Hell is the wrath of God. Hell is a place where God pours out His wrath on a sinner for all eternity. That's why we need to be saved, because God is angry with sinners and God hates sin. We have to come to Him, Jesus who paid for our sins
* Jesus Christ suffered the wrath of God for the sins of the whole world. God the Father poured out his wrath on Jesus Christ when He took upon Himself the sins of the whole world. Jesus Christ died in our place for our sins.
* Our sins are paid for. Why do we need to still go to hell and pay for it? All that needs to take place is trust the blood, then that forgiveness is ours through the atonement of Christ. So we don't have to go to hell. We have eternal redemption through the one sacrifice of Jesus Christ
3. The Blood Jesus Shed Is For The Anonement Of Our Sins
Romans 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
4. Without Shedding Of Blood Is No Remission
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
5. Because Of God’s Blood, We Are Now Saved From Hell
Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
6. We Are Redeemed & Forgiven Through His Blood
Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Wrong Teachings:
* This verse says redemption through his blood
* The modern bible versions removed “through his blood”
a. Modern Bible Versions Corrupt The Word Of God
[ESV] Colossians 1:14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
[NIV] Colossians 1:14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
[RSV] Colossians 1:14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
7. We Are Redeemed By The Precious Blood Of Christ As The Lamb Without Blemish And Without Spot Which God Foreknew Before The Foundation Of The World
1 Peter 1:18-20 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
8. The Blood Of Jesus Christ Cleanseth Us From All Sin
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
9. Jesus Loves Us, And Washed Us From Our Sins In His Own Blood
Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
10. Jesus Suffered So That His Blood Can Sactify Us
Hebrews 13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
11. Jesus Purchased The Church With His Own Blood
Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
* His blood is the payment for all sins
12. We Are Made Nigh To God By The Blood Of Christ
Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
* Nigh means near
13. We Have Peace Through Jesus’ Blood
Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
14. Jesus Christ Our Passover Is Sacrificed For Us
1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
15. Jesus Is The Author And Finisher Of Our Faith
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
16. We Are Justified By 3 Things
a. GRACE: Justified By His Grace Through The Redemption That Is In Jesus Christ
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
b. FAITH: Justified By Faith, Without Works
Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
c. JESUS’S BLOOD: Justified By His Blood, We Shall Be Saved From Wrath Trough Him
Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Note:
* We are saved by "GOD'S GRACE", through "OUR FAITH", in "HIS BLOOD" that He shed for us
* Salvation is by God's grace through our faith in Jesus' blood.
* When we trust the blood of Christ by faith, then God by His infinite mercy and grace who died to pay for our sins, saves us because we're trusting in the blood atonement of Christ
17. When We Trust The Blood Of Jesus Christ, He Is Our Subtitute, He Is Our Saviour, We Receive Forgiveness Of Sins. Salvation Is By Faith In Blood Atonement Of Jesus Christ, Declaring Jesus As Righteous Because He Is The Sinless One Who Died For Our Sins
Romans 3:25-28 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Note:
* To be justified, or saved, a person's faith must be wholly in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. This declares God the Just one. When a sinner is saved, he cannot boast about himself or his works. He'll only brag upon Jesus who saved him from his sins!
* Sadly, in our modern age of apostasy, there are very few who claim to be Christians that ever preach about the blood of Jesus, and the need to trust in it for salvation. But the simple Bible truth is, ONE CANNOT EVEN BE A CHRISTIAN UNLESS ONE IS TRUSTING ONLY IN THE SHED BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST!
