REDACTOR CRITICISM OF THE BIBLE
(Bibliology: Doctrine Of The Bible)
SECTION 1: REDACTOR THEORY
* There is a group of redactor scholars or editors, they take the bible and put their own ideas in the bible
* Example of things they say: Not all the bible was written by actual authors, the time written in the bible are not true
* Redactor criticism means they will try to make us doubt the bible
1. We Believe All Scripture Is Given By The Breath Of God
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2. When We Look At This Verse, The Redactor Theory Is Of The Devil
Genesis 3:1-4 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
* Satan starts by a question first: Yea, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
* Then Satan Concludes and lies: Ye shall not surely die:
* The redactor scholars, question the bible first: How do you know the bible is true?
* Then the redactor scholars concludes and lies: The bible is not true
Note:
* When we compare the christian sides and redactor sides, we can see that the christian sides has more evidences, proven facts and reasons while the redactor sides does not have reasons
* There are many new testament verses in the bible which can easily disapprove the redactor theory
* Jesus and the apostles they claim the authenticity of the bible. They claim the bible is true
* There are manuscript evidences proving that the new testament had to be written during the lifetime of the apostles. Noticed the dates, its all in the 1st and 2nd century. They were real and they were not lying
SECTION 2: THE REDACTOR CRITICISM OF THE PENTATEUCH
* The pentateuch are the first 5 books of the bible (Genesis to Deutoronomy)
* Christians believe they were written by Moses
* The redactors believed that they were written at a much later date, they were not written by Moses but by later writers.
* The redactors took the pentateuch made changes with a lot of mythical stories in it.
1. Genesis Is Not A Mythical Story Written By Later Writers, It Is Given By The Breath Of God And They Are Called Scriptures By The Apostles
a. All Scripture Is Given By The Breath Of God
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
b. The Apostles Called Genesis Scripture
Galatians 4:30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman.
Romans 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
2. Jesus Said Moses Wrote The Pentateuch
Mark 12:26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
* book of Moses, how in the bush God spake
3. The Apostles Said That Moses Wrote The Pentateuch
Luke 24:27, 44 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
John 5:44-47 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
John 8:5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
2 Corinthians 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
SECTION 3: REDACTOR CRITICISM OF ISAIAH
* They believe the 1st half of Isaiah (1-39) is written by Isaiah but they believe the 2nd half of Isaiah (40-66) was written by another person
* They say the 1st half and the 2nd half are different, Different styles and theology doctrine
* 1st half of Isaiah talks about judgement
* 2nd half talks about salvation
* thats why they are different
1. Jesus And The Apostles Said That Both 1st And 2nd Half Of The Book Of Isaiah Were Written By Isaiah
John 12:38-41 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
Matthew 3:3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
Mark 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Luke 4:17-19 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
John 1:23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
Acts 8:28, 30 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
Romans 9:27, 29 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
SECTION 4: REDACTOR CRITICISM OF THE OLD TESTAMENT
* They believed that the old testament were written by other authors and not the authors which we believe in
* The prophecies were written after the prophecy was fulfilled
1. Jesus Believed The Genesis Account Of Creation
Matthew 19:4-6 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
2. Jesus Believed Moses Wrote The Pentateuch
John 5:45-47 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
3. Jesus Believe That Abel Was Real
Matthew 23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
4. Jesus Believed In Noah And The Flood
Luke 11:50-51 That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
51 From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.
5. Jesus Believed In Abraham
John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
6. Jesus Believed In Lot And The Destruction Of Sodom
Luke 17:28-32 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32 Remember Lot's wife.
7. Jesus Believed David Wrote The Psalms
Mark 12:36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
8. Jesus Believed In Jonah
Luke 11:29-32 And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.
30 For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.
31 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
32 The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
9. Jesus Believed Daniel Wrote Daniel
Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
10. Jesus Believed Everything In The Old Testament Is Real
Luke 11:50-51 That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
51 From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.
SECTION 5: REDACTOR CRITICISM OF THE GOSPELS
* they said our gospel were a copy from an original source
1. The Writer Of The Book Of John Claimed That It Was All A True Account And It Was A Testimony From Him John
John 21:24-25 This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.
25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
* We know he cant be lying because at that time there was roman persecution, no one in their right mind would dare to come out with such a lie to put oneself in danger of execution
2. Gospel Writers Claimed That There Are Eye Witness Accounts
John 20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
Luke 1:1-4 Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,
2 Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;
3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,
4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.
3. Jesus Said The Scripures, New Testament It Will Be Passed Down To His Disciple Guided By The Holy Spirit
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
4. Apostles Claimed That Paul's Writing Were Scriptures Given By Inspiration Of God
2 Peter 3:15-16 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
