POSTPONEMENT THEORY
(Dispensationalism)
1. The Kingdom Of Heaven Is And Earthly Physical Kingdom: Kingdom Of Heaven Suffereth Violence And The Violent Take It By Force
Matthew 11:11-12 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
2. Disciples Anticipating Their Promised Kingdom: They Asked Jesus If He Will At This Time Restore Again The Kingdom To Israel, Jesus Said Not For Them To Know The Time
Acts 1:6-7 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
* Restore again = that means they previously already had a kingdom
* Kingdom to Israel = that means the kingdom that Jesus was preaching was the physical Kingdom of Heaven for the nation of Israel
II. WHY DO WE BELIEVE THE KINGDOM WAS POSTPONED?
1. Beacause It Is Supposed To Be "At Hand"
Matthew 3:1-2 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
B. SPLIT SECTIONS OF DANIEL'S 70TH WEEKS
1. 70 Weeks Are Determined Unto Israel
Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
* 7 weeks + 62 weeks + 1 weeks = 70 weeks
a. Comparing Scripture: Blindness In Part Is Happened To Israel Until The Fulness Of The Gentiles Be Come In, Then All Israel Shall Be Saved, This Is God's Covenant To Them, God Shall Take Away Their Sins
Romans 11:25-27 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
2. Last Week: Antichrist To Confirm Covenant For 1 Week (7 Years Of Tribulation)
Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
* one week = 7 days
* 1 biblical day = 1 biblical year => 7 days = 7 Years
3. 62 Weeks: After Threescore And Two Weeks Shall Messiah Be Cut Off
Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
* onescore = 20
* threescore = 20x3 = 60
* threescore and two weeks = 62 weeks
4. 7 Weeks : From Restore And To Build Jerusalem Unto Messiah The Prince Shall Be 7 Weeks
Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
* 7 Weeks = Restore And To Build Jerusalem To Arrival Of Messiah
* 62 Weeks = Arrival Of Messiah To Messiah Cut Off
* 69 Weeks = Total
5. Special Time: Time That Michael Stands Up, Time Of Trouble, Time The Jews Shall Be Delivered, Daniel Seal The Book Till The Time Of The End
Daniel 12:1, 4, 9 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
6. Jesus Said The Time Is Fulfilled
Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
1. From The Days Of John The Baptist Until Now The Kingdom Of Heaven Suffereth Violence And The Violent Take It By Force
Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
2. Future Prophecy Of Isaiah In Luke Chapter 3: The Roles Of John The Baptist
Luke 3:3-6 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;
4 As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;
6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
a. God Promised That Before He Comes To Set Up His Kingdom For Israel, He Will Send Elijah
Malachi 4:5-6 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
* Elijah's role is to turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
3. John The Baptist Should Have Been Elijah: Fortold By Angel Before John's Birth That He Shall Go In The Spirit And Power Of Elias (Elijah)
Luke 1:13, 17 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
* John the baptist with the spirit and power of Elias's role is to to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
4. John The Baptist Should Have Been Elijah: Elias (Elijah) Is Come Already And They Knew Him Not, The Disciples Understood That He Spake Of John The Baptist
Matthew 17:10-13 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
D. 3 REJECTIONS OF JEWS, STEPHENS' MESSAGE & JESUS STANDING
1. 1st Rejection: John The Baptist
Matthew 21:24-25 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
a. Jesus Preached About The Kingdom
Matthew 10:5-8 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Matthew 4:23-24 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
2. 2nd Rejection: Jesus
John 19:12-15 And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
13 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
3. 3rd Rejection: Stephen, Jesus Standing
Acts 7:54-57 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.
55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,
* Jesus does not stand, usually Jesus sits. Unless when He is coming. See example verses
a. Jesus Sits At The Right Hand
Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
b. About The Coming Of The Lord And Judge Standeth Before The Door
James 5:7-9 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
E. PETER'S & PAUL'S STATEMENT
1. Peter Preaching: Times Of Refreshing Shall Come From The Presence Of The Lord, He Shall Send Jesus, Times Of Restitution Of All Things, Turning Away Iniquities
Acts 3:19-21, 26 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
2. Paul's Statement: Israel Hath Not Obtained That Which He Seeketh But The Election Hath Obtained It And The Rest Blinded
Romans 11:7, 11-12, 15 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
* Life from the dead = national restoration = is refering to that dead nation of israel receiving life again and being restored and regathered
a. Comparing Scripture: About Life From The Dead
Ezekial 37:1, 3, 6, 11-12, 16, 19, 22 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.
6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:
19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:
b. Jesus Parable About A Nobleman Coming For His Kingdom And Had To Return
Luke 19:12, 15 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading
3. What Happened To Israel Now? They Are Now Blinded
a. Blindness Happened To Israel Until Fulness Of The Gentiles Be Come In
Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
b. All Israel Shall Be Saved Someday When God Shall Take Away Their Sins
Romans 11:26-27 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
c. They Are Beloved For The Father's Sake
Romans 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
d. Rest Of Israel Blinded
Romans 11:7-10 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
e. Through Their Fall, Salvation Is Come Unto The Gentiles To Provoke Them To Jealousy
Romans 11:11-12 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
