NEW COVENANT: DURING THE TIME OF JESUS
(Covenants)
SECTION 1: JESUS INTRODUCED THE HOLY SPIRIT

=> New Covenant Theme
1st Stage = Jew & Gentile | 2nd Stage = Church

1. Holy Spirit Was Involved In The Birth Of Jesus, Jesus Have The Authority To Give The Holy Spirit And He Have The Authority To Revive The Holy Spirit
Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

2. Except A Man Be Born Again, He Cannot See The Kingdom Of God
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

3. Born By The Flesh & Born By The Spirit
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

4. Jesus Sacrificed Himself To Give Everlasting Life To Those Who Believe In Him
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

5. Jesus Have The Authority To Give The Holy Ghost
John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

6. The Holy Spirit Will Be Officially Given After He Leaves
John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Note:
* When Adam fell, the spirit died and God had to deal with all physically (Physical signs and wonder, physical sacrifice, physical works counted as salvation)
* But now things are changing because the Holy Spirit was involved in Jesus birth and Jesus can give the Holy Spirit and we can see a lot of new testament forming after that
* Jesus introduce spiritual Christian doctrine of faith in Jesus Christ that's why we get the spiritual birth

SECTION 2: JESUS INTRODUCED SPIRITUAL CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE

1. God Is A Spirit, We Are To Worship Him In Spirit & In Truth
John 4:23-24 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
* When we worship God, its based on spiritual dealings

2. Jesus Came To Fulfill The Physical Law For Us
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

3. We Receive The Fullness Of His Grace
John 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

4. Jesus Changed The System From Law To Grace
John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Note:
* Because Jesus fulfill the law for us, we can be under His grace and not through many strict commandments
* That's how important it is the coming of Jesus
* It was necessary for Him to come physically so that He can fulfill the physical works and physical law of Moses for us
* Because He did that physically for us, we no longer had to do that physically for ourselves
* Through His sacrifice, He attained it for us

SECTION 3: JESUS INTRODUCED THE PHYSICAL KINGDOM (KINGDOM OF HEAVEN)

1. The Kingdom Of Heaven Is At Hand, Its Coming
Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
* The Jews lost their physical kingdom and when Jesus came, He introduced to them their physical kingdom once more
* This is not referring to going to heaven (many confuse this)
* How do we know this is not heaven?

2. The Kingdom Of Heaven Suffereth Violence & Violence Take It By Force
Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
* This has to do with a physical kingdom where physical nations fight over each other for
* That's why the catholic church think they were building the kingdom of heaven during the dark ages, they were conquering nations and doing bloodshed
* It relates to something earthly and physical
* This is the physical kingdom that the Jews were promised by God as mentioned in the previous covenants

Note:
* Matthew 5-7: the Beatitudes or Sermon on the Mount * Its about the rules to enter into God's physical kingdom of heaven. This is not for us Christians

SECTION 4: JESUS INTRODUCED THE SPIRITUAL KINGDOM (KINGDOM OF GOD)

1. A Spiritual Kingdom Of God Which Is Within Us
Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
* Jesus is preaching a physical kingdom for physical Jews and a spiritual kingdom known as the “Kingdom Of God”
* This is a spiritual kingdom where Christians are in
* There's a difference between kingdom of heaven and kingdom of God

SECTION 5: JESUS MINISTRY

1. Jesus Ministry Is Focus On Jews
Matthew 10:5-6 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

2. Jesus Warned Them Its Going To Switch From Jews To Non Jews Because Of Their Rejection
Matthew 8:8-12 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
* Centurion, many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down = non Jews
* children of the kingdom shall be cast out = Jews cast out

3. A Non Jew Went To Jesus Asking Jesus To Heal Her Daughter But Jesus Said No Because He Only Ministers To Jews Not To Gentiles But Eventually Jesus Saved Her Daughter Because Of Her Faith
Matthew 15:22-28 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
* We see a transition here. The Jews being non receptive but the gentiles more receptive

SECTION 6: JESUS WARNED THE JEWS TO FOCUS ON THE SPIRITUAL THINGS OR IT WILL BE GIVEN TO ANOTHER

1. Jesus Ask The Jews To Prioritize The Spiritual Kingdom Of God
Matthew 6:31-33 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

2. Jesus Warned That The Spiritual Kingdom Of God Will Be Given To Another
Matthew 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
* Kingdom of God will be taken and given to the Gentiles

SECTION 7: JESUS PRACTICED WATER BAPTISM

1. Jesus Was Also Practicing Physical Water Baptism At This Time
John 3:22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

SECTION 8: JESUS INTRODUCED VARIOUS SALVATION

1. Jesus Introduced Salvation For Christians (To Believe)
John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

2. Jesus Introduced The Holy Ghost
John 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

3. Jesus Introduced Tribulation Salvation, To Endure To The End To Be Saved
Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

4. Jesus Talks About The Signs Of End Times, Tribulation
Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

5. Jesus Introduced The Salvation Plan For The Millenium
Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
* this is when the physical kingdom comes

Note:
* because God Himself was there and He did not die on the cross yet, obviously old testament salvation and physical things were still on going
* Faith & works by the law was still on going
* Because the God of salvation Himself (Jesus) was down here on earth, He is able to introduce all kinds of salvation
* We're going to see millenium, tribulation and the Christian church time period
* You know why? Because Jesus has the authority to do that. He is God

SECTION 9: JESUS TALKS ABOUT THE COMING OF CHRIST & DAY OF THE LORD

1. Jesus 2nd Coming, Day Of The Lord
Acts 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

2. Tribulation Signs & Events
Matthew 24:15-21 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
* These are Jewish, physical Jewish stuff

3. Post Tribulation Rapture For The Jews
Matthew 24:29-31 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

4. Jesus 2nd Coming & Judging Those Worthy To Enter His Physical Kingdom
Matthew 25:31-32 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
* Physical kingdom, that's what the Jews are waiting for. They are waiting for the physical king, physical kingdom which the old testament prophets talked about
* Jesus reigns over the world

SECTION 10: JESUS SACRIFICE (CLEARING OF SINS) VS ANIMAL SACRIFICES (COVERING OF SINS)

A. JESUS SACRIFICE (CLEARING OF SINS)

1. Jesus Is The Sacrifical Lamb That Take Away Sins And We Don't Have To Go By Physical Animal Sacrifices Anymore
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

2. Blood Of Jesus Cleanses Us From All Sin
1 John 1:7, 9 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
* cleansing of sins is connected to forgiveness
* today when God forgives us our sins, he clears away our sins

B. ANIMAL SACRIFICE (COVERING OF SINS)

1. Previously Animal Sacrifices Were Required For Forgiveness Of Sins But It Cannot Take Away The Sins
Hebrews 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

2. Once One Is Forgiven, Their Sins Are Covered
Psalms 32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
* God overlooks their sins

3. God Forgive Their Sins But He Does Not Clear The Sins
Exodus 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

Note:
* They had to practice animal sacrifices for the forgiveness of sins
* Jesus sacrifice is once and for all : it takes away the sins
* Animal sacrifices is considered old testament and Jesus sacrifice is considered new testament
* After Jesus’s death, we don't have to do this anymore
* Thats why, the dead before Jesus’s death they didn't go to heaven but they went to Abraham's Bosom

SECTION 11: OLD TESTAMENT SAINTS WHO DIED GOES TO PARADISE IN HELL (ABRAHAM’S BOSSOM)

* because their sin’s are not fully cleared (they are resting there waiting for Jesus to complete their salvation)

1. Jesus Said To The Thief On The Cross Today He Shall Be With Jesus In Paradise
Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

2. The Bible Tells Us That Jesus Will Be 3 Days And 3 Nights In The Heart Of The Earth
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
* heart of the earth means its down underneath, not up
* Paradise is down below the earth where hell was located

3. Paradise Was Orginally Garden Of Eden: When God Created Eden It Had The Tree Of Life
Genesis 2:8-9 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

4. The Future Paradise Of God Has The Tree Of Life
Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

5. Eden Descended Into The Lower Parts Of The Earth: Eden Is In The Nether Parts Of The Earth In The Same Vicinity Of Hell And The Bottomless Pit
Ezekial 31:16, 18 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.
18 To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
* Eden was not destroyed in Noah's flood. God send it down to the nether parts of the earth

6. Paradise Is Also Called Abraham's Bosom
a. Rich Man And Beggar (Lazarus) Died. Rich Man Went To Hell And Lazarus Went To Abraham’s Bosom

Luke 16:19-22 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

b. Hell And Abraham’s Bosom Were Located Next To Each Other. They Could See And Communicate With Each Other
Luke 16:23-24 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

c. Hell Is a Place Of Torment And a Abbraham’s Bosom Is A Place Of Comfort
Luke 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

d. There Is a Gulf That Seperates Them And They Cannot Pass Although They Are At The Same Area
Luke 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

7. Old Testament Saints Who Died Goes To Paradise In The Underworld
a. Saul Went To A Witch To Bring Up Samuel From Paradise. The Witch Says She Saw Gods (Angels) Bringing Him Up. Samuel Came Up As An Old Man

1 Samuel 28:11-14 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.
12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.
13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.
14 And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.
* This is the only instance in the bible that a soul was being called up because God allowed it

b. The Purpose Of Paradise Is As A Place To Rest
Job 3:11-13 Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?
12 Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck?
13 For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,

c. Samuel Asked Saul Why Did He Bring Him Up From His Rest?
1 Samuel 28:15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.

d. Even David Was Not Up In Heaven
Acts 2:34-35 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

e. Jesus Preached The Gospel To The Dead: These Are The People In Paradise
1 Peter 4:6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

f. God Says That The Sins Of The Old Testament Saints Were Only Forgiven But They Were Not Cleared. They Were Not Redeemed
Exodus 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
* Only Jesus Christ can manage to accomplished the work of redemption by His blood on the cross

g. The Old Testament Law And Sacrifices Could Not Make Them Perfect. It Is Impossible That Blood Of Animals Can Take Away Their Sins
Hebrews 10:1-4, 11 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
* The old testament saints who died were forgiven of their sins and they would go to a place called Paradise and there they awaited the atonement of Jesus.

h. Only By Jesus Death, Redemption Was Able To Be Accomplished For The Old Testament Saints
Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
* The old testament saints who died were sent to a place called Abraham's Bosom or Paradise which is a place of rest and comfort waiting for Jesus to finish His work of atonement for them

i. Paul Talks About Getting Forgiveness Of Sins For The Old Testament Saints: Remission Of Sins That Are Past
Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

j. During The Time Before Jesus Died On The Cross. John Said That No Man Has Gone Up To Heaven
John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

8. Jesus Took Captivity Captive And Brought Them To Paradise In 3rd Heaven
Ephesians 4:8-9 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

9. After Jesus’s Ressurection, The Dead Saints Bodies Came Out Of Their Graves, Went Into The City And Appeared Unto Many Before They Were Brought Up To 3rd Heaven
Matthew 27:52-53 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

10. Paradise Is Now In 3rd Heaven
2 Corinthians 12:2, 4 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

11. What Is This Paradise In 3rd Heaven: This Paradise Of God Has The Tree Of Life
Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
* This tree of life is in new Jerusalem (see Revelation 21 & 22)

12. The Tree Of Life Is In New Jerusalem
a. John Is Talking About New Jerusalem Which Will Descend Down From Heaven

Revelation 21:2, 10 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

b. John Describes What Is Inside New Jerusalem: The Tree Of Life
Revelation 22:2, 14 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

13. Paradise Is No More In The Underworld. Hell Has Enlarged Herself, There Is No More Gulf
Isaiah 5:14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

Note:
* After 3 days and 3 nights accomplished, Jesus rose up and His soul got back His body (a glorified body) and He ascended bodily into heaven
* Jesus went down to Abraham's Bosom, completing their salvation, took took them out of Abraham's Bosom and put Abraham's Bosom or paradise up to the 3rd heaven where God is
* Old testament Jews have to go through the physical dealings of God because the spiritual nature of man was dead during that time
* So God deals with them physically and they had to do physical works to the best that they can.
* God counted them temporarily blameless (according to man’s standard) because they are not perfect in comparison to God’s standard
* God put all these old testament saints temporarily in Abraham's Bosom in hell because Jesus have not died on the cross yet to make the ultimate complete and perfect sacrifice to pay for all our sins
* Until Jesus died on the cross, then He can get them out of there
* God is a spirit, Jesus gives the Holy Spirit and gets the spiritual nature alive and start the spiritual operations going
* After Jesus died that's why we don't need to do all those physical dealings anymore because now we are under spiritual dealings

SECTION 12: NEW TESTAMENT VS OLD TESTAMENT

1. New Testament Means After a Death Of a Testator, After Jesus Death Only The New Testament Starts
Hebrews 9:15-17 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
* His sacrifice is the one that can give complete salvation
* Jesus completed the spiritual perfection of salvation for our sins
