* So, there's a gospel of the kingdom where healing signs accompany and there's a kingdom involved
* Before we say this is the same gospel of the death, buriel and ressurection of Jesus Christ, the easy answer to debunk this is that there was no death, buriel and ressurection Jesus Christ yet at that time.
* By the way, none of the people knew about the death, buriel and ressurection of Jesus Christ.
* How can the disciples preach it if they don't even know it?
* This is another gospel. Its the gospel of the kingdom
24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
* Noticed all the names of these places and the Jews are accompanying Him: Galillee, synagogues, Syria, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, Jordan
* This gospel is for Jews. Why? Because Jesus is preaching about the kingdom that they've always been waiting for.
* Some people assume that it means Jesus and the disciples are preaching a gospel that when they die, they are going to heaven
* No, because it says "at hand". Meaning something is about to come down for them. Its not them going to heaven but that kingdom coming for them
* So, it makes sense when that Messiah came down, He was preaching: hey, this is it.... right here..
* Why do you think the Jews when they saw the miracles of Jesus wanted to make Him their King?
* The Jews understood it. The only people who don't understand are the people who don't know the bible.
* There's no way that's talking about a holy heaven where there's suffering and violence especially violent people taking it by force
* God was talking about the promised earthly kingdom for the Jews and the Jews understood it
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut if off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
* That's why it makes sense about the Sermon on the Mount when Jesus gave all these rules of what to do when this kingdom comes.
* Why? When you have God Himself ruling on the earth as King over the world, His kingdom is going to be full of rules and its going to be a land of perfection where people can't commit sins.
* See, dispensationalism makes sense. Sermon on the Mount Is talking about that kingdom that God is going to bring.
* So, did the Jews accepted it? Obviously not. So that's why that kingdom wasn't there
a. Jesus Tells Us Who He Came For: Jesus Came For Israel
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
2 Timothy 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
(ii) For Our Sins
(iii) Was Buried
(iv) Rose Again
(v) According To The Scriptures
* The gospel is Jesus’s death, buriel and resurrection (Its about the blood atonement of Christ for our sins that saves us)
* The gospel is the pillar of the Christian faith and the way of salvation and eternal life.
* The gospel is WHAT JESUS CHRIST DID FOR HUMANKIND TO SOLVE THEIR SIN PROBLEM SO THAT THEY CAN HAVE ETERNAL LIFE TO BE WITH GOD IN HEAVEN
* The keyword is "HOW CHRIST DIED"
* Jesus died in a bloody manner on a bloody cross and He shed His blood so that His blood is able to wash away all our sins. He became the blood sacrifice for our sins
* Our gospel is all about "WHAT GOD DID FOR US"
* Our gospel is "THE DID GOSPEL"
* A person is only saved by BELIEVING in the finished work of Jesus Christ, when He shed His Precious Blood for our sins.
* The apostate gospel is "THE DO GOSPEL" : One needs to do something to get saved
* If we don't preach the blood, have we even preached the gospel?
* If we don’t hear the blood, have we even heard the gospel?
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
* Propitiation means the act of appeasing wrath
* Noticed the verse: “faith in his blood”: the object of faith is God’s blood (Jesus’ blood)
* Salvation is by faith in the blood atonement of Jesus Christ.
* To be justified, or saved, a person's faith must be wholly in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. This declares God the Just one. When a sinner is saved, he cannot boast about himself or his works. He'll only brag upon Jesus who saved him from his sins!
* Sadly, in our modern age of apostasy, there are very few who claim to be Christians that ever preach about the blood of Jesus, and the need to trust in it for salvation. But the simple Bible truth is, ONE CANNOT EVEN BE A CHRISTIAN UNLESS ONE IS TRUSTING ONLY IN THE SHED BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST!
* The wrath of God abides on sinners, those who aren't saved
* Hell is the wrath of God. Hell is a place where God pours out His wrath on a sinner for all eternity. That's why we need to be saved, because God is angry with sinners and God hates sin. We have to come to Him, Jesus who paid for our sins
* Jesus Christ suffered the wrath of God for the sins of the whole world. God the Father poured out his wrath on Jesus Christ when He took upon Himself the sins of the whole world. Jesus Christ died in our place for our sins.
* Our sins are paid for. Why do we need to still go to hell and pay for it? All that needs to take place is trust the blood, then that forgiveness is ours through the atonement of Christ. So we don't have to go to hell. We have eternal redemption through the one sacrifice of Jesus Christ
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
a. Paul Tells Us What Jesus Ministry Is About: Jesus Ministry Is To The Circumcission, The Jews
8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
* That's why we're not supposed to pervert the gospel
* The gospel for us today is about the blood atonement of Jesus Christ: the death, buriel and ressurection of Jesus Christ for our sins.
* This is preached to everyone
* Do we see the death, buriel and ressurection of Jesus Christ for our sins right here? No
* What do we see? Its about fearing God, giving glory to God and worshipping God as we should
* Let’s be honest. Are we fearing God, giving glory to God and worshipping God as we should? No. We don’t. We’d all go to hell if this is our gospel. This is a works gospel
* Our gospel is faith alone in the death, buriel and ressurection of Jesus Christ (His blood atonment for our sins)
* What’s the solution? Dispensationalism. Rightly divide the word of God. This is for the tribulation time period
17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
Hebrews 4:1-2, 11 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
6 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:
7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.
8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.
9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.
11 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?
12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.
Zechariah 12:1-7 The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
4 In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.
6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.
